With the development of medical technology and the change of Chinese traditional reproductive concepts, delayed childbearing age and decreased egg quality make it a hot topic for whether remove restrictions for fertility preservation in China. Limited by law and regulations, fertility preservation in China is mainly restricted to patients with malignant tumors or other serious diseases. There is a realistic demand for conditionally allowing unmarried women to freeze their eggs. It will be a feasible solution for those in need to freeze the eggs first and thaw the eggs with legal fertility certificate.

According to the American Association of Assisted Reproductive Technology, an estimated 76000 women opted for egg freezing in 2018. As society has developed and the personal spiritual pursuit has improved, China has a vast potential market for egg freezing. According to our population ration, if relevant policies and restriction are removed, more than 400,000 females will choose to freeze their eggs, and the fertility preservation market will expect to exceed 40 million.  The demand of female fertility preservation grows continuously in China. However, regular medical institutions cannot provide egg-freezing services due to the limitation of laws and regulations, leading to the rapid development of underground egg freezing market, which seriously harms the health of women and undermines the normal development of the national medical system. Therefore, the establishment of egg bank and a sound regulatory system can effectively assist those in need. With the urgent demand for fertility preservation and the advances in technology, relevant laws and regulations will be improved gradually, and the market will usher in explosive growth.

As the first listed company in genetic sequencing of assisted reproduction in China, Basecare started the research and development of intelligent embryo storage equipment and management system in 2015. The self-developed cryostorage system(BS800A) is a fully automated, intelligent ultra-low temperature biological sample storage system which is used primarily by reproductive centers for embryo storage. The equipment can store up to 50000 embryo samples, with automatic liquid nitrogen replenishment, fully automatic embryo storage and retrieval and multiple measures to ensure the safety of embryo storage, it can realize the full monitoring of equipment operational status and sample storage status. This equipment obtained the CE certification of the European Union in 2020 and is deployed in several well-known reproductive centers in China. In the future, this system can be expanded for sperm and egg storage.

Basecare focused on the fertility development line of assessment, preservation and treatment, lays out new industrial chain, build a set of complete biological sample storage system, provide technological and hardware support for fertility preservation to promote national population development policy in the hope of empowering ordinary people with bearing right and eliminating problems of fertility.
