Basecare Satellite
Basecare, as the leader in assisted reproduction in NGS, made a wonderful appearance at the Annual Academic Meeting. During the meeting, Basecare specially invited professor Xu Yanwen from the First Affilicated hospital, Sun Yat-Sen University to give an amazing speech on the formation mechanism and clinical processing strategy of chromosomal mosaic in embryos. It is believed that embryo chromosomal mosaic comes from the error of embryo mitosis with unclear origin factor, and may relate to the patient’s own physical condition and ART treatment programs. Professor Xu said, as mosaic embryos still have certain potential for implantation, the detection of it can evaluate the transplantability and help patients to select beneficial transplantation strategies. There are very few data on pregnancy after transplantation of mosaic embryos according to clinical cases, but the limited outcomes such as implantation failure, miscarriage or live birth without abnormal phenotypes are reassuring. Professor Xu shared the guideline on international association for the implantation of mosaic embryo. He pointed out that we still need to maintain a cautious attitude and transfer euploid embryos with preference, as well as inform patients for the risk of transferring mosaic embryos and plan for next IVF cycles to avoid transplanting embryos with high mosaic value and risk. The compliance PGT-A detection platform should be used to ensure the accurate detection of mosaic embryos.
